Pets Can Suffer Heat Stroke In Excessive Heat ? CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) ? Los Angeles residents aren?t the only ones who can suffer heatstroke?pets can too.

?Make sure there is shade, make sure there?s water, plenty of water,? said Madeline Burnstein, President of the spcaLA.

Dog owner Haley Car keeps her dogs in daycare rather than outside in the heat.

?We love them like our kids. If you?re going to have a pet you need to be responsible and alter your lifestyle to fit what dog needs,? Car told CBS2?s Melissa McCarty.

Excessive Panting, disorientation, drowsiness are signs a pet may be suffering from heat stroke.
