I just got back last night from being away for a week on business travel. I?m a bit temporally disjointed. I left Frankfurt yesterday at 12:40 pm Frankfurt time and touched down in Boston at 2:40 pm Boston time. I managed to stay away until 8:40 pm last night and then woke up at midnight. My body was telling me that it thought it was 6:00 am and I should get going or I?d be late for a meeting. Bodies are built with brains, but they don?t use them.
Then I woke up at 2:00 am again and my body was telling me that it was time breakfast. Again, bodies are built for brains, but they don?t use them. Finally, at 5:00 am, I woke up again and my body was telling me that it was time for some lunch. At that point, I capitulated. It was raining, but like a damned fool, I hopped on the scale and noted that I was up six pounds so I had better go for a walk.
I left Boston with two business associates on Saturday, August 4th. We touched down in Zurich at about 10:00 am on August 5th. I don?t sleep on air planes and this trip was no exception. However being in a great new place helps keep me going. So in spite of the body?s bitter complaining about being penned up in steerage on a jet for six to seven hours, I grabbed it by the seat of the pants and we took the trip over to Austria where we stayed for a couple of days.
We lodged in the Hotel Alpenrose in Feldkirch, Austria.
Ah, nice room!
Not an unpleasant scene from the back of the hotel! Very European.
But this is no time to rest. The reason for arriving on Sunday is to get used to the time zone so we can be productive on Monday. Plus a Saturday night stay knocked off $1500 from my tickets, so an extra day is easily justifiable. And since we are here, we might as well do some sight seeing. Right?
Stop by tomorrow, I?ll take you to Lake Constance.
Visit Scenic Sunday.
